I See Beyond
I look upon the trees. Stately, standing, As silent sentinels Guarding the peace of the woods. Being whispered to by the breeze I look upon the trees. But I see beyond.
I look upon the mountains. Unmovable, eternal, Piercing the heavens, subduing the plains. Wrapped in the embrace of the clouds And the caress of the rains Of its own creation. I look upon the mountains. But I see beyond.
I look upon the seas. Powerful , raging, Both wild and calm Screaming the fury of the storm, And singing the lullaby to the shore. I look upon the seas. But I see beyond.
I look upon the Cross. Stately , standing, Guarding the testimony of the Prince of Peace. Being whispered to by the Holy Spirit. I look upon the Cross Unmovable ,eternal, Piercing the heavens ,subduing the earth. Wrapped in the embrace of the flesh, And the caress of the blood of His own creation. I look upon the Cross. Powerful ,raging, Both wild and calm. Screaming the fury of the storm of death. And singing the lullaby of the love of life. I look upon the Cross. But I see beyond. What do I see? I look upon these things with natural eyes, But I see with my heart. And I have come, Face to face, Heart to heart, Spirit to spirit, With the stately ,standing ,unmovable ,eternal ,powerful ,raging, Loving tender mercies Of Almighty God.
